      Hi Bill,

I happen to have (4) of those so called Halbminiaturen. The size for the wreath is approx. 28 mm x 24 mm. I did post those ones and the only reply I got was" You don't think this is real, or?"

I did not throw them away...

Bill I know my opinion dosen't count for much and you've seen more/owned than I've had hot dinners but I like the look of the box a lot, if anything I think the box is genuine and I'd snap that up in a second.

As for the minature, I wouldn't have a clue..........I love that box though.

        Kind regards,

        Marcus

          Bill,

do you have any doubts about the originality of those pieces? I know that there were Halbminiaturen. Why would somebody fake something so special and of the main stream? Now with your special made box, I tend strongly to believe that those are genuine and rare.

I have never seen or owned a minature Luftwaffe badge. I think we need the advise of Frank and the Luftwaffe badge collectors. I am sure someone can shed some light on this type badge.

Marcus your opinions do count and just because I have been around for half of a century in this hobby gives me any special status.

To be honest, I have no knowledge concerning this type of badge. It looks well made, but I never came across any before now.

                Hello Bill,

I have never seen an example of any LW miniture quilification badges in any of my period books showing one being worn. I have also researched my Assman catalog dated 1935-1938 and nothing their as well. I have also NEVER seen one offered by any reputable dealer as well. I have seen these at a show or two and toughted as original . But I think not, IMHO.

THANKS!! I have my doubts as to the originality also, but I have been proven wrong before. The badge appears to be well made, but many reproductions today are well made.

the case looks to be used for a different item. it's not notched out for the wings, and the medal looks to have been placed in it to make it look cool??

                          Hi Bill
It is recorded that test pilot Hannah Reitsch received an EK2 in march 1941.Goering as an act of acknowledgment gave her a miniature pilot observer badge.
I Have owned one of these and it was made from cupal.I feel the one i had was real.

                            Dear Keifer,

That one does not count as it was the exception.

                              Hello all

Just saw this thread and thought I would throw an idea in here I have, now I know absolutely nothing about pilots badges however if these minis were made by say Juncker or Deumer wouldnt the pin and hinge resemble the full size badge in style and assembly? Just a thought, these look quite nice guys.
