    ROAG Cased, Doubts

    Hi

Iam combing the auctions today and ran across this one.

Iam guessing it is a B&NL and have requested more pics of it.

What worries me is the the nearness of the lighning bolts to the wreath as compared to originals, the 2nd alarm is the tail, it appears not as rounded as original examples,The wreath also appears a bit thicker sort of like those fll wreaths. any other opinions on it?

    Best

Iam also starting to think an Assman, but hard to tell from terrible angle of the pic.

Yes Jos, even the case looks good, Iam not moving on it though until i see reverse fotos, those auction houses can be really sneaky.

wow, these guys were fast on the pics

looks to me like a rivet was replaced and cannot tell much about the catch.

            Dion,

The left catch looks either hammered to tighten or is completely replaced. The catch looks to be original or at least I don't see any evidence of repair as the frosting looks undisturbed.

Yes Richard, I thought they were trying to disguise a repaired catch with the price id tag, the finish does look undisturbed, the rivet looks to have a brassish hue to it so iam guessing it is hammered down to tighten. I think if i can bid it at a price in accordance to the rivet Iam in good waters, case I have no concerns over.

this is a zink version from what I can tell, or is it not?

              Thanks

No, it's a heavy tombak with hammered rivet... it might even be that the pixels of the image are disturbed and the rivet is intact ..
                That blurry picture really sucks..
I would ask them about the rivet..

                Jos.

hahaha,, do you have a nice shot of the rivet Martin?

did you miss that they had a Hymenn CCC in silver some time ago that went for 600e, I missed it by 100e.

The ccc i could kick my self in the ass for being cheap.

Jos, you are right, it is best to ask, a replaced rivet can effect the value greatly.

No, forget it , thats to much especially with auction fee and they usually want another 20 e for shipping. Next time Martin.
