    S&L Para

Hi guys, this is a S&L, couple of months ago I thought that it is a weird Juncker. The wreath is all cupal (copper plated alum.), the rivets are aluminum, the eagle (aluminum) is copper plated only on the front.
I saw some threads about these, please remind me if we nailed those as S&L's
    only because of the hardware?
    Please express your opinions

        Hi Lubo,

Very interesting badge you have here. Indeed a S&L in my opinion, definately not a Juncker although it follows the Juncker design (like most S&L combat badges). These S&L badges commonly feature a cupal eagle, but not a cupal wreath, usually it is zink. I see the copper showing through under the silver plating, but are you sure its cupal? It may be copper coated zink, where the copper was overlaid on the zink to hold the silver plating better. Do you see evidence of the cupal sandwich of materials on the side of the wreath? Can you give us a weight of your badge?

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi Tom, this is definitely copper plated aluminum wreath (I can see the alum. showing from the worn sides of the badge' wreath) the weight is 18.3 g.

            Hi Lubo,

Yes, and the weight confirms that it is aluminum, very light!

Interesting badge, Lubo! Nice detail on it.

Tom, you looked at this one in hand at the SOS year when I was at your table with Lubo.
