Both pieces are genuine IMO but that case is very damaged in contrast to the preservation of the award itself. I'm not very stronge in these badges. But I do know that BSW for instance had its typical case with sprayed felt. Counts this also for GWL?

I don't believe that's a GWL case, although the case does appear to be authentic. Who knows about prices these days? If you want it, buy it; if not, pass. It's worth what you are willing to spend.

Both pieces are good and it is nice to see a real GWL case for a change. My good friend here in town paid $1,800 for a mint GWL Pilots badge and case almost 2 years ago. He needed one badly to complete his Luftwaffe display. I saw a mint cased GWL pilots badge at the Max show from one of the big dealers and it was $3,200.00 so it may give you an idea. As you know GWL is very popular.
