    Blue Afrika Cufftitle, LW?

Yesterday I managed to pick up this very rare blue Afrika cufftitle.
Not a lot is know about these cufftitles but I believe these were used by the Luftwaffe.

Although the moths had a feast with this cufftitle it is still in a fairly good condition.

I would welcome any more info on these blue Afrika cufftitles and am looking forward to hear your opinions as well.

Pascal, the WAF archive has the details of this LW cuff title, and I'm sure a couple of key words in the search function will turn up more info.

          Thanks Scott.
I already had a look at the WAF archive and did also a search on the forum but I couldn't find the exact same cufftitle.

To me it looks like an original period cufftitle and the combination of the silver stitching on blue cloth led me believe this is a LW cufftitle. So that is I am hoping someone familiar with LW (cuffitles) can help me with this one.

´Pascal, I have only had one. An underated armband IMO. The difference between the one I had and yours is your lettering looks taller and elongated compared to mine. I do believe yours is ww2 period though. The elongated lettering might be due to your scanner or just a different variant maybe.

                  Hi guys,
                  Thanks for your replies .

I was familiar with the CT as posted by sscrooge but I never seen one like mine before.
As you said Dion, looks indeed definitely period and that is why I took it.

                    Pascal,
There is no doubt that it's a LW cufftitle. The long letters is one of the variations of this CT. A similar one like yours can be seen on page 292 of Angolia's "Uniforms & Traditions of the Luftwaffe" Vol. 2.

Any LW (Blue) "Afrika" CT is very difficult find. Congrats.

                    Regards,
                    AB.
