    Ground Combat badge damaged

Hello, i got this LGC few month ago and i believed it as an original badge. The swasi of the upper layer eagle (strange material isn't it?) had been removed... i guess someone was trying to denazify the badge without knowing there was another one underneath... well i don't know
The badge is unmarked and i really would like to know what do you think about.
    Many thanks,
    Stefano

Yes you have an original Luft Ground Assault Badge by an unknown maker. This type can be found on pg 70 of the Weber book on the subject. It is a shame about the denaz attempt, it also looks like a child got hold of it and had some fun either painting or coloring the eagle with a marker (perhaps the soldiers grandson?).

well difficult to say but that's basically what i was thinking about. You know the badge is well aged and i don't think there is paint or a marker on the eagle, but it looks like she has lost good part of the silver finish and some kind or yellow metal came out... anyway thanks for your feedback
          cheers,
          Stefano

            Hi Stefano,
Is the eagle hollow, because if it is, it makes sense to have another swaz below the top one for purpose of correct allignment
            Regards

I have a badge by this maker and the Eagle is yellow in color also, normal for this to happen with age!
