    Nightfighter Clasp

    Hi

I have found this but cannot get anymore fotos, I cannot make anything of it but do believe it to be a fake with the ausweiss added as a garnishing.

can anyone else make heads or tails out of it?

    Best

Impossible to tell without better photos (although it looks pretty good from just this one). I assume the document is just a backdrop for the badge?

      hi leroy

      pilots liscense is with clasp.

iam worried it is one of those s and l with the little circles on the back.

iam trying to get better pics because iam really gunning for one of these.

you can make out a bit it has a broad based pin on the back.

        Dion,
The small "O" may not be a bad thing after all. Here's that same mark on the reverse of a "Zipp" zipper pull from a set of 100% original 1943 dated flight pants. I just found this yesterday.

Leroy, i just prefer to stay away from those small O s. I do think the small O mm with the narrow ending on the pin by the hinge is good, the other post war ones have that crappy 57 type pin.

You are way into thse O s

Iam really pulling for this clasp , I just hope I get more pics.

I don't like the fact that all leafs of the wreath are highlighted the very same way.., even if the Spange is OK I would,ve doubts about the black paint..
I would never pay for the "nightfighter" part untill proven nightfighter.
It's quite easy to add 1 drop of paint and score a few extra hundred, which was/is done in many cases IMO and how to notice when it was done postwar !?
                  These are always tricky.

                  Jos.

IMO, no one should ever pay more for a nightfighter than a dayfighter, unless you can be 1000% sure the paint has been there forever (and there is NO way to do that except scientific testing). I think the only clasp you can tell that about (to my knowledge) is the RK-marked one. At this point, it appears that RK only made nightfighters (at least that I have seen). Anyone have an RK that's NOT a nightfighter?

I dont have a good feeling at all knowing the source of it.....

so, try to get better pictures to determine the originality or otherwise let it go and stay away from it...

anearbyl auction that specializes in coins where I have made unBElIEvabLE scores. they notify me on all the tr stuff .

i requested that they also send me the contents of the pilots ausweiss and better pics of theclasp. the price is nowhere near what one would go for and it might be worth the risk after better pics.

as jos said even from a distance the clasp leaves look a bit worrying.

is it me or does the line of the arrow look slightly curved? it might just be the pixels of the foto.
