Assman para badge #2

Here is my other Assman para badge I've had for about 25 years. I'd like opinions on this one please.

Looks like a good, early war Assmann, but with a repaired catch.

I also think this is a good badge, but now for the mystery. I've read where 800 marked badges are considered to be bad, but this badge is so marked, here are some additional pictures of the marking. I was not trying to be deceitful by hiding the marking , I just didn't want to "taint the jury pool" before the badge was simply dismissed because of the marking.

Just because there is a weird mark on the badge, you should not dismiss it as a total reproduction or whatever. There are plenty of cases where a totally original badge has a weird mark on it. Whether it is a distribution mark, or whatever is anyone's guess, but the entire badge should be evaluated.

In this case, it is clear to me that this is an original Assmann badge, which has had a 800 mark added to it, probably post war to increase its value. I say this because the mark is quite light, very unlike the "A" on the back of the eagle. Its clear that the mark wasn't added by the Assmann firm during the war. Assmann wreaths are also not made of any parts real silver, they are Nickel Silver, Brass or Zink. Neither of these contains any silver, so it was most likely added postwar by some complete jackass to increase its value.

Still, a very nice original Assmann though that has seen some action IMO.
