    Never noticed that these have such nice detail, unfortunately somebody chipped at the rivets but i cant complain!

          Why would somebody do that to a badge Gene? Besides snagging on clothes there seems to be no ultimate purpose to that.

            Probably the eagle came away from the wreath and the only way to firmly reattach it was to hollow out the wreath slightly to give enough room to flatten the rivet stalks to create new heads.

            As always when is the question but it is what it is.

                  Their zinc ones used the same dies as the tombak ones, though its hard to find a decent one.
