    LIGHTER from LUFTWAFFE 1938

    Hi,

I got that lighter in a bigger trade, never saw such an item before.

What is your thought about it?

The details are crisp, it ins nicely engraved on the bottom with "JUNGHANS 1938 N.315 D:R:P: Germany"

I put some fuel inside, and it is working fine.

                Me neither.

Why does it say Germany and not Deutschland?

I would say it is a complete fantasy piece made up recently. The Junghans trademark is engraved by someone lacking any kind of skill, not stamped as it should be. I don't think Junkhans ever made lighters. The patina is artficial looking, and the whole thing just looks wrong to me.

Can you show us all a photo of the the inside fuel sleeve, it looks like a zippo or a Ronson that has had the logo on the bottom removed.

Wrong eagle, wrong script, wrong type of lighter. No self-respecting German would produce such a thing. And Junghans was a producer of aircraft clocks and pilot chronographs, as I have an attributed one. But it looks like someone went to a lot of trouble with producing this.
