You can go on 'youtube.com', type in "Nowotny Funeral" and see a couple of versions. In both, the funeral pillow is shown VERY briefly and the actual Diamonds award for perhaps a second. It is impossible to tell which style it is.

P.S. Gosh, maybe they are real! Here's an extra one of my sets I had sitting around and they sure look close.

P.P.S. Seriously, if you look at Adrian Forman's new book, it's hard to tell what is considered real from day to day anymore.

Thank you very much for your clear opinion. I had the pleasure to see different diamond sets
(Rudel, Hartmann, Graf) all of them are looking a little different from each other. The newsreel on You Tube is in very bad quality, I own app. 70 hours newsreels "Deutsche Wochenschau",
and I can go to fixed image and I will watch the pillow.
      Best regards
      Heinz

It would be very interesting and informative for all here to be able to see a very clear photo of the Nowotny funeral pillow.

Clearly not Nowotny's Diamonds but rather a well known fake.

If you compare real Diamond sets with another real Diamond set - there are only minor differences (A to A and B to B, that is). If you compare one fake to another type, the differences are stunning.
Forman's book is astonishing in the sheer endless variations of Diamond sets. I really could only find the official A- and B-Type and the early model.... and I stick to that!

No one is suggesting that Mr. Nowotny was a liar. He was, however, and without any doubt....WRONG. Maybe someone stole the family's real set. Maybe someone gave them these after the war and TOLD them it was Walter's set. Who knows? The reality is that the Diamond set shown in Post#4 is NOT real and collectors should not be led to believe that it is.
