    JMME P/O Badge?

I recently saw this JMME marked P/O badge. I never bought the badge but took some pictures to do some research.

As you can see from the maker mark it is unlike the standard JMME marked badge in that this badge is marked as follows:

    "JMME & SOHM"
    "BERLIN"

Due to this unusal marking for a JMME badge it raised my interest. By the way the badge when in held in hand was of a very high quality with regard to construction.

Has JMME ever marked thier P/O or Pilots badges this way or is this another example of a well made fake?

I would greatly appreciate any forum members comments on this.

    Thanks, Al

Hi Al, this looks to be the fake 'BSW' Pilots badge ( P/O badges come with a gold wreath and silver eagle) thats been around for some time.. This particular fake comes with every maker name in the book.. I've also seen them with the piece of metal that joins the right-hand talon to the upper arm of the 'Swaz'

    Hope this helps...

      Hi Al,

Definitely not OK IMO. The eagle isn't JMME and the wreath seems to be made out of a strange material. Good thing you just took some pics of it and didn't buy it.

Looks to me like a BSW as well, no mistaking that fat old bird.
Probably a casting as well judging from the pockmarks on the back.

          Thanks...

... John, Philippe, and Skip for the comments and fast response to my thread. I'll pass on this badge and keep on looking. It still surprise's me how well manufactured this medal was.
