    Luft Breast Eagle A DRGM

This surprised me, it was supposed to be unmarked...

The little A and DRGM was difficult to find, at first.

Last shot. Not the prettiest but I'm a real sucker for good Luft Breast Badges.

Quite mindblowing for me. I love these eagles and get emotional when seeing members get a hold of one. I trully consider these to me THE original aluminum summer tunic eagles.

I have no valid explanation for the gilding but I like this eagle...... after looking the pics again the patina shows (maybe the pics) some gold finish - what about one gilded in gold for general but really washed/worn?
          I need another coffee.

John, truly a perfect example! Yuri, I have to admit these breast eagles are something else. Francois, I'm having my first cup!

Anyone figure out the gilting on mine??? It's very evident in the wings.

Hi B, I would think that it's as Francios suggests, an example belonging to an officer with the rank of General...

That's more than I could have expected! He's going right to the top row.

                    P. 292 Volume 1 of Angolia's Uni. & Tradit. of the Luftwaffe, " The national emblem was pressed of aluminum-colored (gold-colored for general officers) metal, and was pinned through two or three white thread eyelets...in such a way that the swastika covered the buttonhole."
