    WH Luft Flak badge?

    Gentlemen

Here is WH marked flak that has an eagle that is different from
my other flaks by this maker. The eagle is smaller and the swas.
Is cut out completely. Not filled in at the claws like most you
see by this maker. It appears to be plated tombak and weighs
aprox. 33 grams. The catch is soldiered directly to the badge.
Did this maker produce an earlyier and later zinc type form
different dies or is this a fake?

    Thanks for any opinions.
    Ken

      Hi Ken,

Strange luftflak, at first glance this looks more like an Assmann than a WH.

      I really wouldn't know.

        Hi Ken,

Just did some more comparing and IMO wreath and canon ar typical WH. The oakleaves on these have quit a specific design and are a little thicker than on most luftflak's.

I'm quit confident that this is an original badge, but wouldn't know how the Assmann Eagle got on it. Maybe WH run out of eagles and Assmann had some to spare

If we accept that there are Assmann Luftflak's with Juncker 2pattern eagles than this should also be acceptable. Or isn't it

          Hi Philippe

Thanks for your quick reply. Very good research work. I just compared
the eagle to that on my Assmann and it sure looks the same. It sure is
strange how different makers components end up on a single badge.
There really must be something to this sharing of parts deal. Seems
like we are learning more and more about this practice. I think these
WH flaks are about the worst looking of the breed. I don't think for
me it will be a keeper.

          Best regards
          Ken
