    Help with Osang Transport clasp

    Hi All,
I need help with this Osang Transport clasp ASAP. I 'm not sure after looking at the threads here because I did not see very many on this type of clasp. Please give me a hand with this real or fake.
    Thanks,
    Dennis

No one can help? does the MM look good? Did they have this kind of Clasps in Buntmetal? Does the hanger look good, are they always in Zink? Thanks for any help.

            Hi Dennis

My opinion only: I have never seen a Transport clasp by Osang and certainly not in buntmetal. That bevelled edge to the reverse looks odd. Some people believe that the 1st type pendant ("described as "flower" or "star") may be found in buntmetal - I would only be comfortable with a zinc pendant.

You may wish to search the forum to locate some of the discussion re- pendants and Osang clasps.

            Regards
            Paul

              Hi Dennis,
I am in no way a clasp collector, but the pin and the finish on both clasp and hanger worries me.
              Cheers,
              Brian

I have never seen an Osang clasp like this, although there are parts to it, such as the rivet ,which look pretty good. I agree that the finish (and filing) look overdone.

I think early pendants were made in materials other than zink and have seen a couple I felt very comfortable with. Certainly most, however, were in zink.

All things considered, I would have to err on the side of caution and pass on this one.
                Best,
                Leroy

I don't like this one for a lot of reasons all of which I will not mention here. It looks MASSIVE, the pin is not what you would expect with an Osang, Osang usually had triangular cut outs and not circular, and the MM does not look right - too big among other things. Here is a MM for comparison off a bomber clasp. Frank H did note 2 MM's on Osangs in a thread some time ago. You might take a look at that.
                  Best,
                  Richard

                    Thank you all,
I will pass on this one. I do see the difference with the makers mark and this one does not look like any other Clasps I saw on the site. The lettering is not the same nor is the finishing. I got an EK1 and a bronze CCC from the same seller and they were good. I know a little about those but this Clasp is outside my collecting area. Thanks for the quick answers, you guys saved me some $$$.

                      Hello Dennis,

all the critical voices are totally right: That´s for sure a mid-quality fake.

                      Kind Regards

I have to agree with the others; not good!
