    Dear Toby,

I discussed this in another thread, but I never thought the SW 68 badge Detlev showed was a fake. The badge he showed is identical ( and I mean as in SAME badge) to one sold by Baldes to Jürg and offered by Jürg on the e-stand lateron.

      Hi Frank,

Thanks for responding. Although, I remember Juerg selling his badge, I must have missed the thread. I'll have a look for it.

Re. Detlev's fake of the week: am I correct in thinking, Detlev showed the purported fake in error? Or have I misunderstood things?

      All the best,
      Toby.

No Detlev never commented this and he was never officially asked if he really thinks this is the case. But I assume he does, otherwise why post it?
It is just my (and a couple of other collector´s) opinion that the badge he showed (and e.g. your badge) are original Juncker badges.

          Hi Toby,

If I'm not mistaken your question was already discussed in a previous thread and as far as I know nobody steped forward to call the badge Detlev posted as copy of the week a sure fake.

I think if you look at the evolution of the Juncker luftflak based on the examples in this thread that it becomes quite clear that there are significant quality differences between all these badges. And in that evolution theory the SW marked badge is just the last of the Juncker buntmetall badges.

So to me at least it's completely logical that these badges fall far short when compared to the early production and there is nothing wrong with that. It only proofs that at some point in time the material used to make them was of such poor quality that they had to shift to the production of zinc badges because only that way they could present a nice looking product again.

                Hi Mike,

Don't know if I understand you correctly? Are you asking for permission to use picture to update your site?

If that is the case feel free to use any of MY pictures as you see fit. That also goes for PAB pictures you would want to use on your Tank site, and you don't have to give me credit for them
