    Salty Assmann Para

    Hello gents,

heres a badge that a friend of mine brought around today, its a bit gungy but some people clean them, and some peolple don´t.

My friend is a bit worried because of the deep Assmann mark in a circle, he´s never seen this type of Assmann mark on a badge before and thinks it could be a repro.

I,ve seached the Forum as I was sure we had dealt with these before, can´t seem to find the thread though!
I have my own opinions but I would like some feedback as to what you all think?.

    Thanks, Skip

    Hi Skipy,

That's a good one, no problems what so ever. I already have seen this Assmann mark on other badges and one can only wonder why Assmann found it necessary to use so many different mm. A study that catalogues all the known Assmann marks would realy be interesting.

        Hi Skip,

Looks like a really nice badge! DON'T let your friend clean the black off wreath - it's probably the original finish!

Re the heavily stamped marking, I remember this being raised about Assmann's before - I think the outline may have been round and not ?shield? shaped though. I know we've definitely discussed a round circle/impression for B&NL maker's marks on their Pilot's Badges before.

              Hello Gentleman,

Badge looks fine to me, don't clean it as you will loose most of the gold gilt , the wreath maybe dirty , But, that is the color of the wreaths on Assman Paras. They came with a darkensibler as listed in the Assman catalog.

              Best,
              JD

                  AHHHHH!!!, thanks gents,

This Forum is great, inside of an hour I get all the info. I could possibly use.

Thanks for seaching and finding the threads Phil (search & selection), also thanks to all others who replied.

John, the old man could be the same one that Phil met in the woods(the one knocking up the badges)

I should also say "schon dank" from my friend Gerd, who really is happy that this is not a "gurke" (cucumber!!!)
