    Deumer Pilot Badge

    Hello Gentleman,

Just for the sake of knowing how many memebers do own at least one Deumer Pilot badge, I was curious if some would share their exmples or at leat admit to owning one.

    Best Regards,
    JD

Check out the thickness of the wreath.....
Shown alongside a CEJ (in a box) for comparison.
      "Thickerer"...anyone remember those commercials?
I like the "webbed foot" wingtips.

Joe, cheap set-up for Tim C. to show off his favorite and rarest pilot badge!

I meant to rarest as this original, where else you going to see a genuine Deumer?

          HI Tim,

Question, I should knoew this by never thought about it before how many varients are their for the Deumer pilot badge. Is their an early, mid war, and late war?

Meaning is their a thin wreath equivilant to a J1, J2, J3 ect??

          Would really appriciate your thoughts.

          Best Regards,
          JD

            You and Tim.

Heard there were 19 accepted variations according to the Big Book of Deumer Pilot Badges. So, Joe, you're not "done" yet.

              Hi Joe,

The In-laws from Belgium are in town so I haven't been on the computer much lately.

Besides the type posted, I've seen one made with Juncker (J2) parts. It had all the correct Deumer construction characteristics. Their Observer badges are also made with Juncker parts (to the best of my knowledge).

There are some early thin badges out there that may have been made by them also, but none have turned up marked yet. Francois started a good thread on them a while back....maybe you can find it?

I've never seen a zinc Deumer pilot's badge, which seems strange to me since they made so many zinc Radio Op / Air Gunners???

              Cheers & stuff,
              TC

                Hi Tim,

Thank you for the intel. It raises some very interesting points.

                - I also wondered why their isn't a zincs pilot badge , while deumer made Radio Op/Gunner badges. Doesn't seem logical. But, I would not want to speculate on that with out any province to back it up.

                - Also seems a bit strange but not too strange that Deumer wouldonly make one variation, given the speculative timeline of production.

Any thoughts as to when Deumer first started production of the Pilot badge and would a perspective guess be that production began 1939 and ceased around late 1942ish. I know this is nothing more than just guessing on my part. Any follow comments?

                Best Regards,
                JD

Is this thread just to annoy all the guys out here that haveĀ“nt got a Deumer Pilot yet. If so it was successful :-).

I have seen a zinc wreath Deumer Pilot a while back, was heavily worn and not really in a state that would have fitted in my collection, but they do exist.
