So happy with this badge - JMME para

I just got this beautiful JMME para badge today in the mail. I saw it a week or so ago on the e-stand for sale. Well, when I came back to the e-stand a couple days later I couldn't find the thread. I called Joseph D'Errico and Yuri and asked them for help with the sellers name to help me search further. Well, Yuri answered me with the sellers name and Joseph answered with, "I just bought that badge, Robert!" Well, Joe and I worked a deal, and here is the badge:

And, John, just to let you know...the badge arrived safely. Thank you. I'll call you later.

The wreath I am certain is solid nickle. Love the 'pinched' rivets and the color of the hinge. I am very happy with this badge.

    Robert

@ John, thanks for the swift mailing and excellent piece , this was a three way winner for all of us.

          Best Regards,

            As promised,

Pics of my new bird, typical Robert Pierce quality. This is a very welcome piece to add to my collection. The Deumer Observer is one of my favorites of the Observer series. Look at the wreath , frosty, frosty.

            Cordially yours,
            JD

                  Thanks, Lorenzo. Thanks, everyone.

Here is a framed display I put together recently. The G.B. GAB has just sold and a slightly worn Juncker will take it's place. Lot of fun. Real simple- I just had a custom frame built around a Riker Mount.

                    Dear John,

Count yourself very lucky my friend, this is the badge that made me start the "sold in the US only" thread. If John would have sold it outside the US it would have crossed the ocean by know and be living happy ever after in Belgium

But than again, I'll hope you will make me very happy.

Here is mine for comparison. I really had to have this one once I saw it.

                        Yuri,
Yours looks almost in unissued condition. What a beauty!

Thanks Robert!!! The JMME para. badges are my favorite Tombak examples. They are really solid looking with excellent detail.

                            Yuri,
Are these (JMME) Silver-wreathed versions of the para badges prewar? Are they that early?

                              Robert,

It's difficult to be conclusive about the time period of these badges' production, but it is safe to say that they could have been manufactured as late as the end of 1942. I have a Luft. Air Gunner / Flight Engineer badge (without lightning bolts) by Juncker made from Tombak and these badges were authorized by the Air Ministry in the Summer of 1942. This means that orders for these badges were placed at this time and production started in the second part of 1942. So 1942/43 were years when Tombak was still probably used to make a lot of badges.
