Buntmetall Juncker Air Gunner / Flight Engineers Badge

    Hi Guys,
I just picked this one up from Bill Shea. A rarer all buntmetall example by Juncker. Aside from being the rarer version, this one also is named on the reverse........TWICE!? The first name on the right is or as best as I can make out Obgf. Wetthman ( it is written over twice) and the name on the left side is Uffz. Hahn - I've never seen a double named badge before. Is this as uncommon as I think or do others have a twice named example? Do you think they could have actually shared a badge
or maybe this one was commandeered after one of the two was KIA? Thoughts anyone?

      Hi Eric,

Beautifull badge and much more difficult to find than a golden ccc these day's

Beats me why it shows the double name. You would think that these were personal items, not to be past from one owner to another.

Maybe these two people were somehow related and after the dead of one of them the family past them on. Or it was the stake in a gambling game in between two missions. My guesses are as good as anyone else I suppose.

But hé, don't loose sleep over it, if you can't live with it, you know were to find me

I was with Eric when he bought this piece, actually I pointed it out to him

        Alright, he found it himself

Another nice piece, we did good at this show.

        Cordially Yours,

        JD

PS Sure would be nice to add a GWL Gunner to that collection, Hmmmmmm............let me see if I can think of anyone that has one.

Thanks Philippe and Joe. I'm surprised none of the other "heavy hitters" in the Luft Badge area cared to comment. I thought surely someone else saw one marked in this manner before. Maybe I'm on someone's poopy list!?

              Hi Eric,

thats a nice example, I really like named examples that show their age and use. Has the hook been repaired?

I have only ever seen one example of 2 names on a badge and that was the owners name, done nicely in Sutterlin script, and the name of the GI that "liberated" it scatched on the other side. It was a pilots badge by the way

                catch replaced

                Hi Skip,
Thanks for your post. Yes, the catch on this badge does seem to be replaced. The usual Juncker round stock catch has been replaced with a thinner round stock catch. Looks pretty good for a field repair.
