why are these cases so expensive and rare, you dont find spanges with cases alot right?

They used to not be, this happened 2 years ago, I used to be able to get a clasp and case like this for 250 e, not anymore.

The flight clasps have risen in value just as everything else has gone nuts these are just catching up with the intense interest in these items. for 350-400 Euros a cased bronze example is a pretty cool award in comparisson to say a cased Ek1 for a nice marked one your talking similar money but clasps turn up way less often than cased EK1's go figure
                PS nice set

True. flight clasps are IMO underestimated, but dont deserve it when you look at it. The looks of it makes me ........................Hell, now I need my wife

Nowadays I prefer a cased flight clasp above the common cased EK1.

EK1s have many makers and millions of awards. Towards end of the war lots of awards to keep moral high I think.

Clasps are true combat award and although Luftwaffe was large not so many clasps awarded I think. Also switch to zinc middle of war which makes buntmetal clasps quiet rare. Cases mostly were thrown away or used for other things, clasp was worn on uniform always.

                    Glad you like it anyway.

No nothing wrong at all. I mean that you will regret buying a clasp without a case ....They are so much more beautiful when they are stored in a case...
