I don't think it's round like the infamous ... "Rounder" Pilots Badge. This appears to be a regular Pilots badge that appears round by the angle of the badge on his uniform.

I may agree with you if the EK1 was a funny shape too, but its not!

Actually it looks to fat as well.

Come to think about it ... me thinks the seller is using a bit of "Photoshop" to make it "appear" it's a Rounder. I thought the waist of the LW officer in the closeup looked a little "wide". Looks what happens when I "adjust" the picture back to what it should be like. Whalaa ... nomal waist size, normal EK size .. and normal Pilots Badge

              Round Pilots Badge

              Hello,
Darrell and Gene-come on! I for one disagree. I believe that the badge in the photo is the rare round pilots badge. I feel that such badges were worn by crewmen flying saucer like test aircraft during the war.

Please watch this very important film and 27 seconds into the video it will explain the mystery of the round pilots badge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpCGe...eature=related

I wonder if the seller on E-bay would take my RK des KvK for the photo?

              Regards,
              Jody

The pilots badge is on an angle as it pulls against the uniform material. The EK is higer up on the stronger part of the uni and weighs less. Normal badge. Even if you think it is the circular, look at it - it is not round but a little elongated. OPTICAL ILLUSION crated by paralax...

Darrel, that is a good job on that Photoshop! I agree, a regular pilot badge.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Mark, it's an optical illusion created by the seller. It's not thne way the badges are worn or tilted. The photo has been widened to make it appear it's a Rounder.

After all .... what a "valuable" picture he could sell ....

There are some newer "references" that show other rare awards in modified period fotos.

Correct. What was that Don ... the Luft Assault Badge, or was it the Luftwaffe Sea Battle Badge ...

The Balloon Badge to an RK winner. And the pic was from 1943.
