hey guys a vet in my neighbor hood has a cased luftwaffe pilots badge, he said he would let it go for a hundred he has no problem with me scanning pics befor i pay for it which I will do tomarrow, what is a fair price? he said the badge was in very good condition. he also said the case has group leader written on it.

Hi Ken,

Concerning the price range I think thats a little difficult to answer without more details on the badge. Is it a tombak or zink badge, is it maker marked and if so by which maker, in what kind of condition are the badge and the case?

However if it is original and you can buy it for $100 then nothing of the above mentioned criteria matter, you will probably make the deal of your live.

Just to give you some indications on cased PB prices

1. in zink $ 450-650
2. in tombak $ 750-1100

If it should happen to be marked "Deumer" and in good condition Joe will gladly give you $ 2000 for it.

So like I said probably the deal of your live, and I can't wait to see your pictures

Wow, if it is authentic and in reasonable condition, the case itself would probably be worth more than the $100. I can't wait to see the pics.

hey guys I picked up the badge today and sent tyler scanns to post for me. the badge is not in as good shape as I remember, but I gues that was my mind playing tricks on me, I dont see a maker mark.
please tell me what you think?

i dont know guys

the badge is a little ruff, hammer marks over the rivet holes, the eagle is loose and at some time someone put some type of glue on one of the wings to hold it tight to the wreath. it looks like a badge that tobyR had on here a while back, but the saz. on his came over the wreath where this on comes short., would the bacl light test work on the box, I took the piece where the badge sinks into the case out(it was already comming out I did not tair anything) where the glue had torn from the cardbord it did glow a little.

The badge looks good to me, a typical unmarked Pilot badge in zinc. The finish on the front of the wreath and around the hinge and catch looks like silver, so I don't think it is a PO. The box also looks good.

Hi Ken,

Great deal, congrats. Nice unmarked Pilot badge, not the typical hinge set up that I would expect to see, since the other features look identical to the common unmarked GWL wanna be.

if you guys are convinced its the real thing then so am I, what would you say its worth? if the box does not go with this badge, I'll probley trade or sale it. what would be a fair price for the box?

I would say the badge is worth IMHO $250.00- $275.00

Case IMHO $275.00- $325.00

Was the badge damaged and repaired at sometime, beside the rivets being retightened there seems to be some type of scar to its obverse left side, (wing). That would lower the price for me far below 250.00, if that has happened.
