Was this pattern of buntmetal badge ever produced by Assman in zinc, with an identical eagle?

Hi William,

Yes, these were produced in zinc using the same dies. Here is one from Mark Miller's collection. Not everyone likes the L/64 marked badges, but IMO they are 100% wartime produced!

Sure William, here is one Detlev sold a few years back. These zink Assmann's are few and far between, but you will notice the typical mid-to-late war "pancake" rivets used by Assmann on their other Luftwaffe badges made around that time of the war (1943-1945).

Hi William,

Definately not textbook Assmann at all. The reverse of the eagle and its maker mark look pretty good, but the wreath, hardware and rivets are nothing like what Assmann produced. Can we see an obverse shot?

At best case, the badge has an original eagle on a bogus wreath. Worst case is that the entire thing is a reproduction.
