      Looks very good IMO, but I have the same concerns as Mark pointed out. One area that may point to a good quality cast is around the tail feathers as circled below. I have never seen one with this "blob" yours show.

      Is the wreath actually brass (tombak) as well?

      Scary attempt though.

        Hello, thanks for the extra info on what to look out for next time! Both badges have now been returned to my friend. He was as surprised as I was with the news. He says he purchased the both badges from old antique shops in his travels so has taken a hit on both of them but he was a true gentleman to refund what I paid him for the Flak badge! Thanks again, RKH
