LW Air Gunner Badge - Real or fake?

    Hi All,

Here are two pics of what is said to be a genuine Deumer made (as stamped) LW Air Gunner/Mech badge.
It has a segmented swastika which makes it unusual in my view as the only Deumer made badges of this type (as what I have seen) normally have the fully filled-in swastika - are zinc - and have the hinge and clasp joined to the badge via a plate attachment.
What are your opinions on this one?

Hi Tim. IMO, the badge you show is a Radio Operator badge that has had the lightening bolts removed. The Deumer Radio Op badge has the segmented swastica, while the gunner badge does not. If you look at the comparisions below you can see the differences in how the area around the legs and talons are designed differently. They are VERY similar, but there are differences.

        Hi Tim,

Here is a brother of the radio operator Lorenzo showed on the right but with the lightening bolts removed.

For me the eagles head on on the Deumer radio gunner with closed swas is also clearly different from the ones that had the lightening bolts removed. Very distinctive is the flat forehead on those eagles.

Hi Phillipe. I agree that the badge you show is the same as Tim's with the bolts removed. The badge I show on the left is the Radio Operator badge with the bolts in place.

The badge I show on the right is the Gunner badge the way it should look.

            Hello

Here is one more Deumer example with the lighting bolt.

            Cheers

              Hi,

@ Tim, the badge you showed is mine. No problem for show it.

This is in tombak early type and these kind of badges were official gived to the winners. this is nearly the same of showed from luft62 but NOT the same. Eagle and hinge are differents.

For better see differences I show the reverse side.

                          Hi Ivan,
The badge I started this thread with, is currently on Ebay.au. At the rate the current winning bid is climbing, I suspect it will reach normal retail price by the time the auction ends!

I'm not crazy about the hinge/pin setup on the badge that started this thread.

Compare it to Ivan's. I consider these to be correct for Deumer.
