    Is this an original piece?

    If so has the catch or clasp been repaired?

      It is a good one. The catch plate is original as is the hinge. It looks like the catch and pin are replacements, but it is a nice one. Maybe it was broken in combat - think of the possibilities!

          Not really. Plenty of makers made just zinc badges. No way to date that.
