    Juncker Flak badge

Hello, can anyone please advise me as to what version this Juncker Flak badge is? I am sure this one is made from nickel silver as the detail is very soft encluding the makers stamp and the overall looks of the badge looks different from tombak badges that I have seen. Regards, RKH

No way that badge is good - the hardware is 100% wrong. The finish looks like spraypaint. What are the weigths and measurements in gramms and mm please. Take measurements of the wreath alone - high to low. Unless it is the rarest of variants I am very dubious of it.

Hello Marc, thanks for the feedback. Well, I can say for sure that this badge has never been spraypainted. It is just the flash on my camera that has made it look that way. I am not very good at taking pictures and this was the best I could come up with. I don't understand when you say the hardware is 100% wrong also? It looks like Juncker hardware to me pin assemblie etc, or am I missing something? I do not have scales but I will take some measurements tommorow for you. This badge looks great in the flesh and im 100% certain that it's authentic.

As Marc, I would be very interested in weight and dimensions. From what I can see there is excessive cast pitting on the wreath just to the left of the gun chamber, and also on the turret mount - bubbles on the surface metal. I agree, the hardware is all wrong for this maker.

Here's a photo(s) of the typical Juncker hardware...

                  RKH,

Your badge has some odd block hinge of a type I have never seen on an authentic badge, and the pin is also attached wrong. The dimensions also look very off from a real badge's hardware. Your is a 2nd pattern Juncker - or is trying to be. Robert posted a real one above. I look forward to the measurements and would love to handle the badge, but I do not feel good about it being original.

PS - Is it just me or does someone else smell the hero?

                    Marc,

I think the hero would do a better job than this, especially on the hardware. Too good for Polish. Some new faker. And to think, they had to strip the reverse flat to make the molds. Could it be?

Hello, I purchased this badge a couple of years ago from a friend, and he had it in his collection for over 15 years. Anyhow, I have been hard at work this morning trying my best to capture this badges true looks! I have taken these new pictures of my badge and it is the closest that I can get. The badge is slightly darker in reality than these new pictures show. I also have also taken some measurements. Eagle wings, tip to tip: approx: 41mm, Makers mark: approx: 6mm, Badge width: approx: 44mm, Length, top to bottom: approx: 57mm. The badge is quite heavy. Well, I will look forward to your reply.
                      Regards, RKH

                        RKH,

Thanks for the new photos! While they are a HUGE improvement the hardware is still not right. 15 years means very little in this hobby. I would love to find out the weight. Did you check to see if the badge is magnetic? I would love to see this one in person - these kind of puzzles are fun!
