    Croatian ww2 pilot badge

    Hello gents
    I know that is in a strictly sense not correct to post this badge here, but as all of you know, most of the Croatian airforce was took into the LW ranks, so ...
    And then many of you are big expets of all the ww2 air forces badges.
    Any way, what do you think about this?

              I hope John T will chime in, he's the guy I go to for Croatian stuff. I do know that these wings are actually "Air Force Legion" wings and not the true pilot's badge they also had.

                  I think this is a good copy that you see everywhere. As far as I know, the originals were numbered on the reverse like the party awards.

                      Only the German-made were numbered on the reverse, while the Croatian ones, made by 'Braca Knaus' were not. And yes, this one is a reproduction.

                          What is the purpose of the number on the reverse? As the numbered awards were apparently made by a German firm(s), I would opt for a maker mark.

                              The first one, Air Legion badge is a reproduction. The 2nd one, Croatian Legion comm. badge is original. Both 'U' badges are original, although dug up items.
