Problem was to jump outoff your tank with a open parachute, very dangerous..
Sadly, whoever created this was unaware that the Luftwaffe Close Combat Clasp would not have been worn with a 'missions pendant'. Otherwise, it looks better than other attempts I have seen.

I've one too. Came in a group I picked up from the daughter, of the Vet's cousin, who got it from the recipient, who picked it up after the war at a mail order auction house in the US of A. The 'story' came with it.
