    Observer Badge "CEJ"

    Posted for opinions.

Question----This baby feels really light. Much lighter than my Unmarked Deumer. Is it aluminum or buntmetal?

I agree, it lacks a lot of details the early ones should have IMO..
I don't see razor sharp edges and the right finish etc.
I'm not excited, I'd like to see better pics though to study this one.

I agree, a nasty fake, well cast from an original. Maker mark, hardware, finish and hand finishing are all off though. Dangerous.

I have never seen a reproduction/faked early thin badge before, but Will assume that they are out there as well. Was this badge for sale last week on one of the well known German militaria sites?

Badge was sold by me, and I have to also admit, I have NEVER seen a reproduciton of this type before. In fact, this is the 2nd thin-style repro I've run across in the past couple of months (the other one was a pilot badge). Can anybody shed light on whether or not these are new repros being made?

What is the weight in grams?
                      Looks like buntmetal to me.
                      Beautifully done.

These flat Beo's could be found on Ebay about 5 years ago and they have being improved since..IMO.

Tricky stuff, hence my request to picture them in certain angles rather than front and back..., good castings still have bad areas.

                        Jos.

These have been around since the 1970's or longer as I have seen these in old collections and in the days before the internet...I posted some in an old thread a few years back if you do a search.
