    Hmmm

That's what I call one chubby looking eagle.

Kind of like a BNL that ate all the pies.

    Wacky.

In this case the "P" stands for "POOP"!

That one is "Super Sneb!" Tim. Another one for the fake Meybauer collectors. Yes Gents, spot on mine. It isn't a real one but fooled me when I started . I was told that a nice heavy well-defined badge was the thing to look for........and the rivets! That was about that in those days before Forums like this empowered the collector!
It isn't cast but stamped out quite nicely. Got it from a good Uk dealer. One of the better ones actually and I am sure he thought was real but sells more uniforms than badges. But he is trusted and respected. We can all make mistakes. PM me if you particularly want to know the seller otherwise I won't make it public. I first had doubts on this one when I noticed on this Forum that a Paul Meybauer marked Pilot badge hasn’t surfaced Post war. Looking further and speaking to Malcolm Bowers of M and T militaria, I sent the piece off to him and discovered that this fake appeared about 10 years ago in London. It was well made and in limited numbers by a guy who subsequently died while escaping from Police. Jumped over a wall in a foot chase and unfortunately for him it was a bridge. But it is well made and could fool people new to the hobby.

Thanks very much for sharing Dan.

I wonder if Meybauer made a pilot at all.

A while back, PM observers seemed to be considered rare, but in the last year, I've seen at least 20!

No problem Tim. You can never say never in this hobby but a real PM pilot seems unlikely considering the lack of a confirmed sighting to date!
I wonder why there has been a sudden infux of PM observers.
              Nothing sinister I hope!
