    Chen,

Very nice and thanks again for showing this unique piece to one of the greatest pilots/aces in the history of aviation. He is one of my favorite pilots from WWII.

Chen, obviously, you are too 謙 ("humble" in English). Instead of Pure Luck, I am certain that you are invested a lot of money and time in acquiring it!

Haha...you don't have to. In fact, I am certain that you are the most advanced collector in Asia!

I wish someone would offer me a diamonds winner's goblet at the price quoted. They would have a sale!

I wouldn't want to spoil people's pleasure but personally I would like to see some clearer pictures before reaching a decision on this Marseilles goblet.

The pictures provided seem to show some peculiar proportions, although this just may be the camera angle. I would like to see a couple of full on shots of the combatting eagles and the Iron Cross, a picture of the makers mark on the base and also a series which show the complete engraved inscription if possible.

A series of goblets were created by a Jeweller who was a former luftwaffe member of 'General Wever' after the war for his comrades and which have similar characteristics.

Of course the ideal would be to handle it myself ! Dream on...........!!!

It is just the camera angle. All engravings just like other goblets after I compare with the other two I have( Alpaka and 835) This goblet comes with the signed letter from W&H and Peterson . I believe they have better eyes than me.

Schiffer's book (couples years ago) by the author Robert Tate shows many close-up photos, including name area, of this goblet.

I would be tickled pink if Chen would sell me the Marsailles goblet for the posted evaluation! It is exactly like every other goblet and there is no appearance of any alteration to any part, including the band where the lettering is placed.

I am sure (positive!) that Chen would have made comparisons to other known original goblets. That would be the first inspection to do. I remember the Peterson story, but never personally knew the gentleman who got it from the vet. I think a check with George Peterson and Stephen Wolfe would be prudent before besmirching such a treasure.

                                This Goblet still survives.
