    Assmann Radio Operator/Air Gunner

    Hi Guys,

This little beauty flew in today.

I dont think that I ever held something this mint in my entire collection live. Apart from the bronze JFS the old man made me but that goes without saying

    Enjoy

          Nice Badge!

I think The Assman Products were every bit as nice as Juncker!

                  Hi Guy's,

Glad you like it. The finish on the wreath is realy 100%. Amazing after 60 or more years.

After a third pattern Juncker PB and an early Assmann Observer (A second PB flying arround in the black hole) this is only my third "bird badge" or how do you guy's call them.

If I compare the quality and workmanship on these badges with Heer or KM badges I start to understand what all the excitement with you Luftwaffe collectors is about. So I think I'll have to cage some more of these wild animals.

That's a fantastic badge, Philippe. Congratulations!

When I see badges like this from other manufacturers I don't see what the big fuss is about with collectors thinking Junckers is the best luft badge maker!

I have one of these by Assmann in aluminium and the detail, finish and condition are also like this.

                      Hey Philippe

You just got to be glowing with pride! Thats the best looking gunner I've ever seen.

Rich, I agree with you. I think Juncker badges are highly over rated. I've seen some with terrible hand finishing work.

Does anyone have an opinion, as to what year or period, makers switched from the early tombak and nickel silver types to those of zinc? I always figured it was between 1942-43.

                      Best regards
                      Ken
