Zinc mid to late war pilots badge

I would be grateful for some personal thoughts on the badge shown here. I am looking to buy this badge from a fellow forum member and he has given me permission to get some opinions on it from the forum.

I have done some research and believe it to be an original zinc unmarked FLL. Any opinions greatly received.
