Aluminum Pilot Badge - CE Juncker

Aluminum, 52x41.5 mm wreath, 14.85 gm, tomback axel, the wreath looks burnished; the wreath, catch, and barrel ends appear to be rhodium plated; the eagle, pin, and rivets have a light black finish.

Provenance: purchased from a book dealer in the early 1970's who got it free from his girlfriend, daughter of the vet, along with a whole box of unquestionably original mint unissued medals and badges. The dealer sold it all to me for a nominal sum.

What do you think of this angular looking "S"?

A dangerous fake, same as the Observer. Unfortunately, provenance means nothing in this case. A lot of things are close. Not good, but close. I'm not going into details to help the bastards out that are ruining the hobby, so no details other than the weight is too much, the wreath is too massive, the details in the eagle are wrong, the catch is wrong, and it weighs too much.

Oh, and did I mention the silver finish is wrong. Juncker NEVER had a shiny silver finish on their aluminum badges.

                Sorry.

                Regards,
                Mark

Thanks for posting this thread as after looking at the observer badge thread, I didn't like this pilot badge either.

Mark has said enough. Hope you can get your money back.

Just to add, I agree that both of the aluminum Juncker badges you posted are fakes. The observer is horrible and may have been fabricated last week, the pilot is a better quality, but still fake. Good luck with a refund. best wishes,

I'm not well versed in aluminum, but that hallmark sure looks good to me.
I like a few other things as well. The observer is a disgrace however.

                          Hello Timb,

I wouldn't say I liked the makermark. I would say 'It Scared Me'!

I need to dig out my Juncker aluminum aerial gunner; I could swear it was a shiny wreath example.

But answer me this, should this badge have a J1 or J2 eagle on it. I can say for certain that the eagle presented doesn't match any J1 eagle I have.

Gene, I have one of those silver wreathed Juncker AGs or RO/AGs. It has a silver wreath, but the silver doesn't look the same as this one. I'm not sure, but I may have even acquired an aluminum Juncker Pilot sometime. Let me check, and maybe post.

                              Regards,
