The eagle looks correct, but I would look for signs of casting, including pitting on the reverse.

The hardware is not typical for JMME pieces as Mark has shown and it may be the PICS, but IMO, the hinge pin looks too thick and the rivets too large and unpinched. The wreath, well we already know it's not the typical JMME & Sohn design.

My advice, be careful with this one.

      Hi Tim,

Does that mean you think the massive snout is correct for IMME/JMME?

        Gentlemen,
Is this the same type of badge as the one I posted a while ago. I see a few similarities.

            I forgott this one..........

You're right!! Same wreath, same maker mark, same long beak, same features............

I'll say straight now: no wartime variation (IMHO), these style of badges are fakes.

              Mark,

For me: Hard to tell; you know sometimes the lighting or angle in the PIC can really make something look "just a bit off" and these did have hand finishing to areas that sometimes give a little different look. In this case, it would be the least of my concerns based on what other things I saw.

                Tim,

I hear what you are saying. This beak just reminds me of Jimmy Durrante!
