    Day Fighter clasp in gold

    Hi

I am offered this one to a good price, but is it ok?
It should be a gold one.
I have only those two scanned pictures so fare.

        Gene,

Do most Osang clasps have the sharp bend where the pin curves to join the hinge? I tend to see this only on Osang badges and you have much more experience with these than I do.

Here is a side view of two clasps, a night fighter and a Schlactflieger, with the sharply bent pin.

        Thank you,
        Bob

I like what I see with this clasp. The later Osangs do have a pronounced bent and height to the pin where it meets the hinge. I will try to get some photo's posted soon for discussion.

            Bob,

My best answer is "kinda sorta". Since these were all hand-bent and then soldered to the hinge, it can actually vary from clasp to clasp. I have a silver Schlachtflieger by Osang that has a rather lazy bend, but I also have a silver long range day fighter that is bent inwards. Wish I could be more specific but they all seem to vary from straight up and down to a few degrees either way.

              Thanks Gene and rflemming,

I have only a few clasps and the Osangs seem to be the most easy to identify by the pin/hinge/catch combo.

I know thar is no shortage of fake clasps and I would like to get up to speed on these.

              Thanks again,
