Hello !

Well with the knowledge and help from Marc I was able to pick up a GREAT FLL FLAK badge for a great price. All I did was tell Marc that I was looking for a nice flak badge at a godd price and he did all the work for me. I got a phone call from Marc telling me that he found me a great unmarked FLL for a wonderful price....and the rest is history!

Marc I just want to say thank you very much again for that....most people wouldnt do that and it really shows the great character that you have.

Was it typical for the flak badges to have a grey finish instead of silver finish like GAB's etc.

FLL typically have a Brenlack finish, or silver wash. They usually get absorbed into the zinc. But the details on FLL are just great, and yours is a very nice one with the typical FLL reverse. I would try to take a shot with it lit better. It is amazing what lighting can do for you.

For whatever reason, I've never aprreciated zinkers as much as I should. This example can compete [on its own merits] with a Buntmetal badge any day of the week. Great details to the obverse, and nice finish.

I know the photobox you are referring to. Lots of people have purchased them. I believe that they are under $75. Your camera technique is good. The last image you posted was in perfect focus. The background is nicely illuminated; you just need a little light on the front of the badge to accent the details and highlights. You could send the badge to me to photograph...... but I might forget to send it back!
