    My SOS badge haul

I'm happy, I think I did pretty good. Only partial down side is I beat one of our members to that J1 para by a matter of minutes, sorry Marc, it has a good home but if I see another I'll point it your way.

Minty GWL observer and a good J1. Very nice tombak JMME and Assmann radio ops with a good zinc Deumer in the middle. The J1 paratrooper and my first P/O, a zinc unknown maker with a black 1st pattern wound badge. And lastly some nice 1st pattern eagles for my Condor Legion coll.

Lots of junk but some tables of very nice items, some fair prices and some with 100%+ mark up over what you would expect what are they thinking??

Yes, when I saw the first few PICS posted of the SOS, my mouth was watering too, fortunately my wallet was safe at home!

This is a little off subject but there was a shimmering mint cased GWL P/O at the show with that fantastic unbelievable finish you find on these pieces. Looked like something from Tiffany's. The dealer, who I think was from Germany, was asking $6,500 for the unit. The buyer had bargained him down to $6,000 when I departed the scene. I am pretty sure the buyer was serious as all he could do to negotiate was to talk about how the case was not perfect. I do not know if it actually sold. That would be 60 $100 bills on the table. Serious money but what a nice item.

Yes, a little too serious for me. I see these online now for $7500.00!!!! Simply nuts if you ask me.

Yes, some prices were way out of line in my opinion. Trying to cater to the super-rich is going to be bad news for all of us. If they were serious about selling they would move way more items if they would check in to hotel reality.

On to some close ups, first the GWL observer
