    Luftwaffe Recon clasp in silver

    Hello,
I would like to show this Luftwaffe Recon. clasp in silver and be grateful for opinions. It looks like a mid-late war original to me but I would welcome some advice or comment from the Forum.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Andy

                Skip,
Thanks for your reply. Can you tell it is a bronze clasp by the colour of the pin? Is it usual for it to go this colour? Please excuse my questions as I am new to badges. I brought it as a silver version but I would rather it is an original bronze late war version than a fake silver version!
                Best regards,
                Andy

                  Andy,

well hard to say, looking at your pic of the pin reverse it COULD be silver but looking at the rest of the clasp it appears to be an olive brown colour. Top of pin is also brass coloured. Points to bronze for me. If the reverse of pin is really silver then it COULD truly be a worn silver one.

                    Skip,
'In the flesh' the colour looks much more silver and I can see what you mean by an olive brown colour in the photographs. The main thing I was concerned about was that it is an original pre 1945 piece and I am grateful someone with your expertise has given it the thumbs up from the photogrpahs at your disposal.
                    Regards,
                    Andy

Looks good but I too believe it's a bronze grade based on these pics

Bronze for me too. Don't confuse the fading Bronze finish, revealing the zinc basemetal light-gray color, for silver finish.

                        Nicely marked JMME.

                        Regards,

                          Gentlemen,
I have been studying this clasp since I got home from work. Thanks to this Forum, I now know that this badge is/was a bronze version as closer study has shown me.
                          Thanks for your help,
