Mine are exactly as the 1st and 3rd cases as posted by François. I would also agree that very few are gold and silver is the most common. Why this seems to be for the observer (silver) and all other qualification badges are gold is a bit of a mystery!

        Here's a gold

It was my understanding that gold print was more rare on Observer cases as well.

Sweet Jesus, who is this seller? I wonder how much he would charge for a cased Aircrew badge?

              Hi Joseph,

The seller does know the difference between an Observer Badge and a Pilot-Observer Badge right?? Based on his price, I have to wonder, especially for a worn example. I thought 1100 DM (not Euro) was expensive a couple of years ago when I bought my near mint nickel-silver example!! Then again, supply and demand - what's it worth to YOU?

              Regards

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

                Hi Francois,

nice cases you have. the center case ( I immagine it has inside dark blue velvet too), is a bit more late then the other two.

following are mine, same war time as yours!

I have immagined the case with silver lettering were early ones too, generally cases I have seen with "Beobachterabz." lettering
were of early time, as mine, as you can see from its inside.
are they differents inside without velvet?

with full name come a bit more late then with short name.

                              Ace

I must confess I know little about cases but that is one sweet early Juncker Observer.

Cliche as it might seem the wear gives the badge buckets of character.

As rare as these are, is that price not just a tad excessive?

But as pointed out, what's it's relative value?

                                Hi dear friend,

...really, for me too it's excessive that price! but today there are crazy prices around the world!

must to see the inside of case but I think a reasonable price can be 1000-1200 euro. - if is a private or a dealer -
