What about the lettering color on the case - It was my understanding that most (95%) of them had SILVER lettering but some early ones had GOLD letters.

I must to say silver are MORE rare then gold lettering. early types are usually golden lettering.
As you know, many cases with silver lettering are copys. this example looks right for me but must to see inside too.

Well,

I was thinking totally the contrary, for 10 cases, 9 were with Silver (which is normal) and only one had Gold letters (early ones) - mainly the ealy ones, like it is possible to find them with wood inside instead cartonage (on prewar examples).

But maybe I am wrong, other opinions???

My 1st pattern Juncker Observer badge came in this case.
FRONT: Small gold letters; fabric material

Hi Lorenzo,

yuor early case's type is the type I like in absolutely more, with this type of tissue of coverage, and rare.
D & B marker you can find engraved in the cardboard inside too.


my early observer cases are all with gold lettering. unfortunately now I have no time to do pics of these, but tomorrow I will do and show.

sometime the gold colour come more light and it mean as silver colour but the Joseph's example looks silver one.
