    Air Gunner Badge - Opinions Please

    I have been offered this Gunner Badge, quite cheaply as a matter of fact - It looks like a Deumer with the bolts removed . No reverse pic available at the present time. I would like to hear what other Luft Badge guys think about this one from the obverse pic. Thanks All!!

          Hi Eric. Paul shows a good example of a Deumer Gunner to compare to. Then, look at Robert's scan of a Deumer Radio badge...There are differences, especially in the beak and talons. Compare your badge to both to see. Just based on your small scan, I think you are correct... yours looks like a Radio badge with lightenings removed.

          Needless to say a bigger scan of both sides would help!

            The best pic of the reverse I could get. W.Deumer maker mark, and it looks like a later hinge on an earlier (segmented swaz) wreath. Thoughts please!?

              Hi Eric. I think it is a Deumer Radio badge with the lightning bolts removed. It looks like the tombak badge, however, I do not like the hinge on the one you show. Would prefer to see the longer barrel hinge. Looks like the hinge and pin may be replacements since Deumer pins aren't usually that long.

                Here is a scan of the reverse of a Deumer Radio badge in tombak to compare to yours...Imagine the bolts removed with a different hinge and pin.

                PS... Although the wreaths look different, I think they are the same wreath, but yours has bettter definition.

                  Thanks for your help Lorenzo - I think I will pick it up for the hell of it - the seller wants only $90 for it!!! Can't go wrong with that amount!!
