        Hello Robert,

The piece is not zinc as you guessed already ( thier are no catch pates) it looks like a nickle alloy or buntmetal. Could you show a side profile pic of the catch?

        Best Regards,
        JD

          im sorry to say ...........

          hello,

Im sorry to say but this badge has in no means the correct characteristics of a original wartime made BSW piece and it is certainly not made out of Zinc !!!!!!!!!

almost everything on this badge is wrong => wrong eagle, wrong beak, wrong wreath, the rivets are in no means as they should be, etc .... shal I go on ??????

cordial greetings + hopefully you did not actually buy this one ,

            Thanks,

            David,
Thank you for the help, It will go into the garbage today I have no room for Repro's in my collection. It was picked up by me about 16 years ago.
I just handed it to my 3 year old to play with.
            "Thanks"

yes, I can my concerns and I'm glad (sorry, not for you Robert!) that Stijn and the others confirmed my suspicions.

Bummer, mate. Don't let it get you down.
