    GH Osang-Dresden

    Gentlemen,

I would need help in determining if this badge is original or not.
The seller said that it is an early, pre-war Paratrooper badge and I assumed that it is made from Tombac and not Zinc, though I could be wrong.
These are the only pics that I have but perhaps, you will be able to tell from these pics alone, if there are any obvious red flags.
    Much appreciated guys !
    Cheers,
    Pat

JUST NOTICED THAT I STARTED MY THREAD IN THE WRONG SECTION.
    Oh, well !

I've also read on the forum that ALL Osang Paratrooper badge were made of Zinc and never made from Tombac.
    Does this hold true ?

Pat, this section is fine. Yes, all Osang para's should be in zinc and this one is not. While it was probably made from an original, it does look close, I would not put my money here.

Osang is one of the most widely copied Para badges. This one looks nothing like the original.
Try studying eagles faces on the different makers, after a while you can spot the poor copys just from the front.

The reverse is way out there.

                Danke Skip.
I don't know how you guys do it but I can't even tell the difference.
I guess, there's nothing like years of experience.
                Thanks again.
                Best,
                Pat

                              Hello Tom!
What about this? As I understood- this is fake ? I checked Your Link about G.H. Osang - no way - this photo can not be original. But somebody bought it.

P.s. - I had investigating Badges Junker. I don't understand, why this badges is more expensive than Osang. Osang has much better artwork than a Junker. If I were a paratrooper - I would never take a Junker - It is no aesthetic beauty. Photos of different quality.
First Junker - sold 1289 with box, Second Osang
