Unknow badge on a Luftwaffe sergeant?

    Hi

Being new here, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for my seek for assistance?
I already asked help from Feldgrau.net, but I got the advice that someone here, might know the badge on the picture.

So I wonder if anybody could help me to indentify a badge that's on a chest of a Luftwaffe sergeant.

I went through every available net sites that deal with German awards in the thirties and fourties, but I didn't find anything that would match exactly to this badge. There are few badges that comes close, but they are not completely round...

I took few pictures, but the photo itself is so small that I can't get a very clear picture from this badge.

    Pictures from that badge

    Kimmo,
My first guess would be maybe a day badge of some sort. This is just a guess. There were so many of these during that period. Commonly called 'tinnies'.

    Not much help. Sorry.

Welcome Kimmo or as we Finns say Tervetuloa!
You came to the right place. As you might have already seen these pages contain huge amount of information about badges and other Wehrmacht decorations. But alas I'm not the one who can help you with that Luftwaffe badge.

          Hi Kimmo,

My first thought was the same as Robert, that it is some sort of tinnie.
Try posting the picture in the tinnies forum, you never know, someone there may recognise it!

          Best regards,
          Adrian.

            Day badge?

So it means a civilian badge or some sort of unofficial badge, like flying club badge?

Or maybe some sort of badge, given by his possible girlfriend?

I just have never head of tinnies, I'm not familiar with that English word.

I just thought that soldiers weren't allowed to wear anything extra in their uniform, things that doesn't relate to the army? At least it's that way today...

I will throw another into the pot, the Austrian Frie flying badge. Can be seen in Angolias Luftwaffe vol 1 page 96 top.
