    Pilot badge case opinion, please

    Hello

What do you think about this case? Real or crap? Thanks for the help.

    Hi Nick,

At one point I bought a number of these to protect my badges that were uncased. They were $28 a piece from a guy in New Jersey.
Same type of leatherette, writing, hinge, button, interior, etc.
This guy claimed that they were made in Germany by the same company that made cases during the war, and said they were made the exact way today, that they were then.

A few years back, I scored a very nice cased Juncker pilot's badge from ebay (believe it or not!). It came cased and the case was identical to these, but older. On further inspection, I decided that the case had been artificially aged. Wasn't too big a problem for me because the badge was a great price to start with.

I've never seen a case of this style that I consider to be of war time manufacture......but, maybe they are out there??

            Hi Nick,
I am in agreeance with Mr. C and Ivan on this - I also had a case like this too. The mid section became loose so I removed it and found a wood insert ( like plyboard!! ) and clear glue! It was identical to the one you post here.

              Yes, definitely bad.

Another pointer is the bright brass push button and fastener. Compare these to original cases and they are worlds apart
