Hi Guys,

I think the "author" that Frank referred to was actually "Australian". The J3 has probably been copied at some point just like many other badges, but I've seen 6 or 7 up close and only had a problem with one of them. The rest all showed traits of Juncker production.

A few points...

There is a guy in Paris that has two that came in RK groups.

Sometimes you can find a J3 eagle on a J2 wreath.

There are a few of them out there in zinc also.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Juncker was making J3s through '43 and maybe even up 'til early '44.

Absolutely I don't believe the story about 3rd Juncker type are all fake. Yes, in this type the high work done from workmen in the first years come a bit down and is normally in the difficult situation of that time for Germany but to say are fake who said it must walk again .........

In the recent thread : "New Addition: 3rd Type Juncker Pilot" you can see mine and Frank's badge and you can find an interesting note from me.

Very nice badge you posted. I really like seeing the filing of the eagle's right claw. Common with Juncker. And the shot through the microscope was really clear and clean. I thought I had a good macro ability with my new Sony 717 until I saw this shot. Wow! Thanks, everyone, for defending the 3rd pattern Juncker. I don't know where this thought ever got started, or why. And like a few of you stated, " Sell all you have to me, please."
Ivan, your badge is the nicest condition Juncker I've seen in a long while. Beautiful piece.
You can see on the badge I posted small micro fissures or cracks that run through the oak leaves, especially. I know this is a common trait of Juncker wreaths. The rivets, hinges, catches, pins, etc. are all true Juncker characteristics. I believe this wreath is the same used on their 3rd pattern observer badge. It has all of the same high relief to the leaves and the dimensions appear the same. So for the record, I myself, like all of the Juncker flight badges- which ever the pattern.
