Hi Guys,
I am almost sure this one is a candidate for the fakes forum, but I had to post it anyway. I can't make out the GWL die flaw and the hing/pin setup makes me nervous

Yep .. not good. Rivets, hinge, pin are bad. Can't see the maker mark too well, but it appears to be off as well ....

The Eagle looks like it's trying to be the Unknown Maker ....

This is neither a GWL PB nor a good PB. Run away...

This ones definatly not good but be careful, there are a lot better GWL fakes out there featuring the correct rivet style and near perfect hinge/catch

Hi,

Yes, a fake, but a nice looking one - even if everything except the eagle is wrong for GWL! The reverse profile of the wreath, especially the left hand side, is worth remembering on this one as there are other examples of this fake with other maker marks and also NO maker mark.

Thanks everyone for your input. I was pretty sure that it was a fake, but I had to double check with you guys first. I agree with Mike that it is a good looking badge, from the obverse, that is. The reverse is way wrong. This one is up for auction with an opening bid of $150, with no reserve. When I asked the seller about it, of course he said it was genuine. When I informed him about the value of such a badge by GWL he simply replied-"just trying to move items"! What a scam!
